Town of Liedekerke opts for animal friendly pigeon control

25/05/2020 - 12:33

The town council of Liedekerke has placed a Vets For City Pigeons dispenser in the Warandepark. The town deliberately chose an animal friendly and safe solution for the persistent pigeon nuisance. "The fact that we received congratulations from GAIA on this approach makes me suspect that we are tackling this problem in the right way," says animal welfare councillor Dirk Lodewijk.

The town of Liedekerke is the first location in the Halle-Vilvoorde region to start up contraception with Vets For City Pigeons. Thirteen other cities and municipalities in Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels preceded them. The project runs until the end of October, the end of the breeding season.
